No, that's a cellular booster. We had one of them but I did a buoyancy test on it because it was a complete waste of money.

These on the other hand work just fine and are MUCH cheaper.

Oh sorry I thought you were talking about "We used a Motorola cell booster all up the coast". The wi-fi extender you posted is certainly a great price when compared to the cost of the Redport Halo. The Redport on my boat gets signals up to 6.5 miles away and boosts them creating a hotspot on the boat for other phones or devices. You do have to have at least a weak signal from somewhere though, like your marina or other locations and or your cell/satellite phone.

We had one of those. It didn't work. Eventually we used an inductive coupling type that worked great. I had a long post composed with images but whatever BBS you are using has a bad habit of dropping messages before I get a chance to submit them and I don't care enough to rekey it.

Well that is unfortunate Bob, mine has worked flawlessly since I got it. I even used to sell them in my marine store I thought they were that good. As for The BBS it may be that you have not checked the box when you logged in to remain logged in. If you did not check the box your browser will not remember the site login and you will have to login again thus losing what you are typing on a long post.

That's not what's happening.

Thanks for all the great information guys. Bob I can't believe the cell phone deal you got off Sasktel. I am with Bell here and they pick your pocket clean and then ask for your first born. I don't think I will need an extender as there is a ShawGo Wifi antenna on the dock right behind my boat. I called Shaw and they said I would have to buy full internet on a yearly basis. Then she told me to just get a friend to let me use their account. I was a little surprised at that as they are losing my potential business. Anyway I do have a friend in Sannich who will set me up as a device on his account. Won't know until the spring but it looks like I will be ok.
