David created the topic: Carpet Replacement
So during a rainy weekend this August and being totally bored I decided to replace the carpet in our boat. Below are the pictures of the process. It was relatively an easy job taking a little over 8 hrs and a few rums, which means it could have been a 4 hour job
I removed the existing carpet which came out fairly easily with minimal tugging to free it from the glue and staples. I then used the existing carpet as template to mark out the new carpet and cut it out using a Skill electric carpet cutter. The re-installation went smoothly as I applied minimal glue and stapled the carpet using an air nail gun with narrow staples. The old color carpet was a dark blue and I think the new color lightens up the space making it look and feel larger and it matches the deck carpets we made last year.
