Looking for the experts on these engines. I am planning a pertronix upgrade for this engine during winter layup. I plan on doing the electronic ignition upgrade and putting the 40,000V flame thrower coil on it. The existing Napa coil in it says to use with external resistor. Coil + has only one wire running from it to the main harness. I do not see a resistor anywhere tracing it as far as i can see. If a resistance wire was used, what would the resistance equal, 3-4 ohms or.... ? If it is a resistor wire which coil do i use, 1.8 ohm or 3 ohm? If any more info is required just ask.

Why is there never enough time to do it right the first time, but always enough to do it right the second time.
I am not one hundred percent sure but I would assume the coil and any resitor that may or may not be required would be based on the new coil and the ignition you install not what was installed before. I would suggest looking to Pertronix for instructions
