My new to me 2452 came with a 16 x 16 3 blade prop, on the drive, a new 16 x 16 spare was in the cabin.

I am able to over rev the engine, with 2 people on board half a tank of fuel and the water and holding tank empty.

My wot should be between 42-4600.

I reach over 5000 and had more throttle.

So i have installed a 4 blade 14.5 x 17p.

Have not tried it yet, i will loose about 200 rpm just cause it has 4 blades, plus i should loose 200 rpm being it's a 17 p.

I understand i will get a better hole shot, to get up on plane at a lower rpm, and i understand i should get better midrange performance to stay on plane at a lower rpm.

Speed really doesn't mean anything to me, i hit 30 i'm more then happy, mostly 25 is ok with me.

I will report back here my findings concerning the new prop.

There are other members in the US site that want to know the result, they too over rev with a 16 x 16 3 blade.

Be good, be happy, for tomorrow is promised to no man !

Thanks Chief, like you 30 mph is fast enough on the water :X But I wouldn't mind getting up on plane quicker and being able to stay on plane at a lower RPM if that translates into better fuel mileage.
