I have some longer distance cruising planned (~1500 miles over the course of a month), am curious what are folks thoughts on going significantly beyond 100hrs on an oil change.

175 Hinos
Will be cruising medium speed 10kt-12kt ~2000rpm

My opinion only ...

Your top rpm wot should be around 3000 rpm, cruising 2/3 rds usually manufactures recommendation, if you run 2000 rpm you should be able to extend the oil change interval to a great degree.

All said and done if you have a healthy engine, i have seen guys in heavy trucks not change oil for 50-100 thousand miles.

Filter now that's another story, capiche ?

Be good, be happy, for tomorrow is promised to no man !
