infinity created the topic: Fuel Additives
Has anyone tried any of the new fuel additives on the market? (Starbite/ Startron). It apparently helps fix ethanol related fuel issues, boosts performance and helps fuel mileage. Feedback anyone

The literature that comes with the Startron says in elimantes the ethanol effects.
I don't know, I used it this past summer but I couldn't tell if it worked or not-didn't have any issues though.
Were I work we sell a lot of it and recommend that every boat that goes out the owner buys a bottle.
It's not expensive round $15 a bottle that will do about 200 litres of gas.
I buy my gas at the marina and it is supposed to be Ethanol free.
Ethanol is added to the tanker truck at the refinery but who knows if the truck wasn't carrying fuel with the Ethanol on it's last load.
I look at it as cheap insurance.

Was there any difference in perfomance or consumption that you noted.

Not that I noticed-didn't use the boat enough and I really don't pay attention to fuel consumption-after all it is a boat.

I only use fuel additives for winter lay-up, and thats just the usual Stabil, and a Starbrite product for ethanol seperation.
I can't remember the name of the Starbrite product.
