I am getting the canvas ready for the summer and noted the screens are starting to tear and are very loose Is the a special marine type screen or is this normal household screen ?

I had about the same problem with a part of the canvas so I decided to buy a new canvas with new screens. When the canvas guys came they said the canvas is still good. We will cut the old screens out ands replace them with new ones. They asked me what I used to clean the screens and I said we cleaned them with Pledge. But that we had found a new product with two different bottles one for cleaning and one for conservation and we liked that very much. When I showed them the products it happened to be exactly the same stuff they also use. They said pledge wasn't made for Marine screens and the product we now use is! The new screens are indeed a special Marine product as were the old ones!

Star brite plastic cleaner and Star brite preserver. Two rather small white bottles.

When we had new canvas done we had some screens made. He used the same material that he used for a wind shield sun screen very durable.
