4087 flooring replacement was created by Running Wild
Looking for ideas to replace the salon carpet in a 2001 Bayliner 4087. Does anyone have experience with installing FlexTeak or teak and holly plywood sheets?

I have lots of questions.
First, the carpet must be glued down. So after pulling it up, is there a plywood subfloor or would the carpet be glued right to fibreglas? To lay flexteak, does the surface need to be sanded smooth?

There would be a plywood subfloor. I will let Al speak to whether you need to remove the old glue.

Sorry guys. Been working 12 hr days . Pictures would tell a thousand words. Most of the time they glue the user pad down and the carpet is stapled down with a million staples. I alway use a 1/2 or 5/8 marine subfloor when installing that type of flooring. Take some pictures when you get the carpet up and we can go from that. Again if you have not taken the carpet up yet, it's a hell of a job. Good luck
